The School of Economics and Management Student Council (SEMSC) held its orientation event, SEM-Bezzled, at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 18 October 2026 for students entering the School in the 2026 academic year.

Held under the advisership of Dr. Tan Khar Mang and Dr. Liu Lingzi, the event brought together approximately 160 participants in 10 teams, including student council members, facilitators, game masters and new students.

Participants represented SEM's five academic programmes: Accounting, E-commerce, Finance, Hospitality Management and International Business. In line with SEM's diverse and international learning environment, participants represented a wide range of nationalities, including Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Russia, Zambia, Tunisia, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and others.

Centred on a corporate embezzlement investigation, SEM-Bezzled featured interactive games, briefings and team-based missions. Participants worked together to investigate cases and solve business challenges, with activities designed to encourage teamwork, critical thinking and communication.
