Mathematics has been hiding secret patterns all around us! 👀🧩

Why do some bathroom tiles never repeat? How do corners and edges form infinite networks? What secrets does the Fibonacci sequence reveal about connectivity? The answers are hidden in the symmetry of our everyday surroundings, and tomorrow evening we're uncovering them!

As part of MAT × Library Mathematics Week 2026, Prof.

Darren Ong Chung Lee will walk us through what daily life reveals: the patterns in Ammann A2 L-shaped tiles, the surprises in infinite networks, and what it all means for how mathematics extends far beyond the classroom.

Come with your curiosity, bring your best guesses (what do you think is the most common hidden pattern?), and discover what symmetry has to tell us!

🗓 Date: Friday, 23 October 2026
🕒 Time: 7:00–9:00 PM
📍 Venue: A3 Library First Floor Mini Cinema (A3 #104)
💰 Fee: FREE (No registration required—simply walk in!)

We look forward to seeing you there! 🧩✨
