Dr. Ong Wee Jun Named Highly Cited Researcher 2019

Research Management Center is very proud to announce that Associate Prof. Dr. Ong Wee Jun from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering was awarded Highly Cited Researcher 2019 by the Web of Science Group.

The Highly Cited Researcher list identifies scientists and social scientists who produced multiple papers ranking in the top 1% by citations for their field and year of publication. The methodology used to determine the list using data and analysis performed by experts from Institute for Scientific Information (ISI).

This year, Dr. Ong won the Cross-field Category, for the papers he has published with outsized influence across several fields. Five other Xiamen University academics won the prestigious award under the same category as well.

About Associate Prof. Dr. Ong Wee Jun

Dr. Ong Wee Jun is an Associate Professor from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, XMUM. He has won several grants since joining XMUM in 2018, including the Merdeka Award Grant for International Attachment, Young Researcher Award from Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and the Green Talent Award that was presented by the German government. His research interests encompass the development of hybrid nanostructures for various energy and environmental applications via heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis (i.e. photocatalysis, photoelectrocatalysis, electrocatalysis, and photothermal catalysis).
